Director Lien Chin-Chang of the Industry Development Bureau (IDB) led Taiwanese businesses to participate in the 2023 Japan Next Generation Communication Technology & Solutions Expo (COMNEXT) and the Advanced Digital Technology Expo (Content Tokyo), resulting in successful industrial cooperation between Taiwan and Japan.
The Executive Yuan of Taiwan has identified 5G, ICT, and the display industries as key sectors in its strategic initiatives. During the events, the IDB fostered one-on-one interactions between Taiwanese and domestic communication businesses.
With this, Taiwanese businesses were able to demonstrate their excellent 5G capabilities and wide range of application possibilities while better understanding the demands and business opportunities of the global market.
Taiwanese enterprises were able to pique the interest of foreign businesses engaged in 5G technology pilot applications by showcasing their 5G solutions. The creation of high-value products and software-hardware-integrated smart display solutions was the main goal.
This strategy shift created new possibilities in global marketplaces. The fusion of display panels and AI translation technology from a local firm to create an AI real-time translation transparent projection film solution was an interesting discovery during the expo.
This ground-breaking technology can be used in a variety of settings, including hotels, airports, and tourist sites, to address the rising need for multilingual AI translation in the post-pandemic era and make up for the staffing deficit.
As a result of the success of this solution, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed by Japanese and Taiwanese businesses to continue their mutually beneficial cooperation.
The IDB is essential in helping domestic enterprises by providing a range of opportunities for collaboration with foreign firms. The IDB wants to foster the expansion of the 5G communication and smart display sector ecosystem through initiatives like the Taiwan-Japan partnership.
The IDB aims to help Taiwanese businesses to venture and develop a strong presence through reciprocal international collaboration by encouraging them to explore global markets.
Further, Taiwanese businesses have benefited from their participation in the COMNEXT and Content Tokyo expos. In addition to advancing knowledge of global market dynamics, the exchanges and partnerships between Taiwanese and Japanese businesses have also highlighted Taiwan’s advantages in 5G and smart display technology.
These accomplishments demonstrate Taiwan’s government and business community’s dedication to promoting innovation, expanding market opportunities, and promoting economic growth in key sectors. Taiwan wants to establish itself as a global leader in the 5G, ICT, and display industries through continuing international cooperation, advancing technology and ensuring the nation’s prosperity.
By combining their individual capabilities and resources, Japanese and Taiwanese businesses can create new goods, technology, and solutions, which promotes industrial synergy. Sharing information, experience, and best practices can result in the development of novel products and services that meet the expectations of the global market.
Also, Taiwanese businesses can expand their consumer base and lessen dependency on a single market by working with Japanese partners. This lowers the dangers brought on by alterations in the local economy or in the state of the market.
The cooperation creates possibilities for international growth. By utilising the two nation’s networks, knowledge, and brand awareness, Taiwanese and Japanese enterprises can collaborate to jointly enter new markets, form joint ventures, or extend their distribution networks.
Collaboration between Taiwan and Japan aids in the expansion of both nations’ economies. The alliance promotes job creation, industrial expansion, enhanced trade and investment opportunities, and mutual economic gain by making the most of each other’s capabilities and resources.
