Last week, Singapore’s Immigration & Checkpoints
Authority (ICA)
launched MyICA, a personalised portal where citizens can access
their personal information and ICA’s range of electronic services (e-Services)
on a single and secure digital platform.
According to the press release, the introduction of MyICA is
in line with the Smart Nation drive to harness digital technologies to provide
customers with a convenient and secure platform to transact with ICA digitally.
The beta version of MyICA was launched earlier on 30 April
2018 with five citizen-centric e-Services – applications for passport, identity
card and APEC Business Travel Card, as well as requests for birth/death
extracts and applications for change of address.
ICA received more than 1,000 pieces of feedback and
suggestions through its e-polls on MyICA’s beta version in the last two months.
According to the feedback it has collected, majority of customers were
satisfied with the portal and commended it for offering the convenience of a
single sign-on to submit applications for different services. Based on the
feedback on MyICA’s Beta version, ICA has fine-tuned the portal to make it
easier for users to navigate MyICA across different browsers and mobile
devices.
From 27 June, three more e-Services will be added to MyICA
which will allow Singaporeans to sponsor Long-Term
Visit Passes, apply for entry visas for their relatives and friends,
as well as apply for a Pre-Marriage
Long-Term Visit Pass Assessment facility. As announced by the ICA, more
e-Services will be progressively added to MyICA by the end of 2018.
Key features of MyICA
include:
(1)
Single
Sign-On with SingPass 2-Factor Authentication
With MyICA, citizens only need to login to SingPass 2-Factor
Authentication (2FA) once to access the range of e-Services and personal
information in the portal.
For e-Services which are not yet available in the portal,
customers will continue to login separately to these e-Services through ICA’s
website www.ica.gov.sg until they are brought into MyICA.
E-Services which do not require SingPass 2FA (e.g.
eAppointment) will continue to be accessible through ICA’s website.
(2)
Simple,
Consolidated and Safe Payment via MyCart
The new payment cart MyCart allows customers to make a
simple, consolidated and safe payment for multiple transactions. The MyCart
page will display all transactions for customers’ review before payment is
made.
(3)
Information
and e-Services at-a-glance via Dashboard
Upon successful login, customers will see a dashboard
comprising important notifications, application statuses and essential
e-Services that are personalised and relevant to their residency/immigration
status.
For instance, a citizen who logs in to MyICA will be able to
see his passport expiry notification and access the passport application
system. After submitting an application, he will be able to see the status of
application under the “Applications” section.
When the passport application has been approved,
he or she will be able to access the eAppointment link to make an appointment
to collect the passport.
