Thailand, dedicated to digital transformation readiness, provided expertise via the Artificial Intelligence Governance Clinic (AIGC) in the AI Executive Programme (MUAI) for leaders at Mahidol University’s Faculty of ICT. The session, tailored for Mahidol University personnel, is scheduled for September 20, 2023, with a hybrid setup at the Faculty of ICT and online through electronic media.
The AI Governance Clinic marks a significant step in educating and equipping AI leaders with knowledge of responsible artificial intelligence technology use. The training is designed to provide in-depth insights into the framework and best practices for ethically and sustainably implementing artificial intelligence among the leaders in Thailand.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology is now integrated more deeply with human work. The capabilities of AI in processing information, understanding patterns, and quickly responding to situations enhance efficiency and accelerate decision-making processes across various sectors. AI has become an invaluable partner for people, aiding in improving performance quality and making significant contributions in different work contexts. The technology’s advantage lies in its ability to perform tasks that require complex data analysis in a short time, providing deep insights and even making predictions based on identified patterns.
In a continually evolving work environment, AI integration speeds up job processes and opens doors to innovative breakthroughs. This technology has shifted the paradigm of human work, where collaboration between artificial intelligence and human intelligence creates a more adaptive and responsive working environment to change.
The AI Executive Programme (MUAI), centrally managed by Mahidol University’s Faculty of ICT, is strategically crafted to empower leaders with a comprehensive understanding of the vast potential, complexities, and impact of AI within the realms of business and technology. Through the incorporation of the AI Governance Clinic, participants are poised to acquire a profound and multifaceted perspective on the responsible integration of AI technology across various facets of life and industry. This comprehensive approach aims to foster not just awareness but a deep understanding of the ethical implications and practices governing AI implementation in diverse contexts, thus enabling well-informed and responsible utilisation within these realms.
The training encompasses both lecture sessions and workshops, aiming to offer a comprehensive understanding of implementing artificial intelligence (AI) with a focus on good governance, tailored specifically for corporate executives (AI Governance Guideline for Executives). By deploying a range of tools including the AI Readiness Scan, AI Use Case, and AI Risk Assessment, alongside practical implementation via case studies involving diverse departments at Mahidol University, participants are guided through an immersive process. This involves exploring cognitive pathways and strategic thinking required for the seamless integration of AI technology across various facets of an organisation’s structure.
The knowledge gained from this training benefits participants in the context of Mahidol University and makes a valuable contribution to the broader development in the field of artificial intelligence. The training consisted of adaptable and applicable lessons. This knowledge can be easily integrated by the respective institutions, organisations, governments, and companies. Furthermore, AIGC is also open to anyone who desires to apply artificial intelligence training to enhance capability and knowledge in this field.
The training laid the groundwork for the conscientious use of AI technology within Mahidol University, establishing a blueprint for external entities seeking to enhance their capacity for responsibly integrating artificial intelligence into governance practices.
This robust commitment underscores Thailand’s persistent effort to cultivate ethical standards within the realm of AI and foster the exchange of knowledge, positioning the nation as a pivotal advocate in championing responsible and ethical AI implementation on a larger, more inclusive scale.
