The AI Governance Clinic (AIGC) by ETDA recently established a collaborative partnership with Mahidol University, solidified through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This MoU signifies a pivotal step forward in AI and good governance.
In an expansive endeavour, the AIGC Centre is preparing to open its doors, welcoming over 33 partners spanning three crucial sectors: Healthcare, Finance, and Government. This collective assembly will serve as a forum for intense brainstorming sessions to chart the course for implementing AI Governance Guidelines in Thailand for the first time.
This latest development marks a significant milestone for the AIGC Centre as it advances its mission to foster the widespread adoption of AI with a strong emphasis on good governance (AI Governance) within the country.
Following extensive collaboration with a diverse array of partners, including both local and international experts, the Centre has successfully crafted the pioneering “AI Governance Guidelines for Executives.” It is poised to be a valuable resource for organisations seeking to navigate the complex landscape of AI applications while upholding principles of good governance.
The “AI Governance Guidelines for Executives” provides a comprehensive framework tailored to the perspective of corporate executives. It encompasses insights adopted from practical experiences, both domestic and international, offering a rich of best practices. Furthermore, these guidelines are aligned with international standards, instilling confidence and garnering acceptance among stakeholders involved in AI initiatives.
This resource is structured around three core components: AI Governance Structure, AI Strategy, and AI Operation. Each facet is pivotal in shaping an organisation’s approach to AI implementation, ensuring that ethical, transparent, and accountable practices are at the forefront of AI integration efforts. With these comprehensive guidelines, the AIGC Centre endeavours to pave the way for a future where AI and good governance go hand in hand, fostering responsible and impactful AI utilisation across various sectors.
The primary objective of this partnership is to initiate a pilot programme applying the AI Governance Guidelines. This endeavour aims to establish policy-level guidelines that will jointly support the dissemination of knowledge, ensuring the appropriate and ethically sound use of AI in Thailand, underpinned by principles of good governance.
The guidelines for using AI extend across multiple dimensions, encompassing Process, Partnership, Capacity building, Rules, Law, and Regulation. These guidelines are intended to shape the future and be relevant and apt within each specific industry, thereby fostering consistency in AI practices.
The AI Governance Guideline envisioned as a cornerstone for broader application and continuous advancement across various sectors holds the promise of being a pivotal tool in guiding AI-related initiatives. It is a foundational document laying the groundwork for promoting good governance in AI applications. It offers valuable insights into the principles that underpin responsible AI use, comprehensive risk management strategies, and the oversight of AI-related operations.
For the public, the AI Governance Guideline is readily available for download, serving as an essential resource that illuminates the path toward sound AI governance. It elucidates the principals involved, provides a framework for effective risk management, and offers guidance for supervising AI-related operations.
To further facilitate the adoption of these guidelines, ETDA actively encourages engagement with AIGC Expert Fellows. These experts serve as invaluable resources, ready to offer advice and guidance to organisations, companies, and individuals seeking to align their AI initiatives with principles of good governance.
This collaborative approach ensures that the application of AI is not only aligned with good management but also tailored to each entity’s specific needs and objectives, providing a solid starting point for those navigating the AI landscape.
