The Manager of Domain Names in Indonesia (PANDI) has reintroduced one of its innovative products, “s.id,” as a highly user-friendly digital marketing solution for individuals and businesses looking to promote their products or activities in a modern context.

To reintroduce “s.id,” John Sihar Simanjuntak, the Chairman of PANDI, shared insights into the features that make this product valuable. “We are reintroducing s.id as a link-shortening platform that can also be used to create microsites with a substantial user base. Currently, the number of users has reached 800,000,” John stated.

The use of “s.id” as a digital marketing solution has gained recognition among the public for its ability to transform long and complex web addresses into simple and memorable links. This solution facilitates easy sharing of links to reach a broader audience, optimise online marketing campaigns, and increase exposure for products or activities. By reintroducing “s.id,” PANDI continues to support the advancement of digital technology in Indonesia.

Every month, the Indonesia Domain Name Manager (PANDI) records approximately 100 million clicks originating from websites that have simplified their links using the “s.id” service. This figure reflects how the online community has adopted and actively used the service.

PANDI’s decision to reintroduce the innovation of “s.id” to the public has a clear objective. They aim to demonstrate to the Indonesian population that homegrown innovations like “s.id” can compete on par with similar products abroad. Beyond mere competition, “s.id” is expected to be an exceptionally efficient and relevant solution in the rapidly evolving digital era.

In addition to reintroducing “s.id,” PANDI has introduced an intriguing new aspect in the form of a physical card known as “s.id.” This card seamlessly blends the business world’s needs with the digital realm. One of the critical features of this card is the use of Near Field Communication (NFC) technology.

With a simple touch between the “s.id” card and an NFC-enabled smartphone, users can directly transfer all the information in their “s.id” to their business associates or others. This innovative step reflects PANDI’s commitment to integrating digital technology with real-world needs, facilitating more efficient connections and information exchange. Thus, “s.id” serves as an online solution and bridges the gap between the digital world and everyday life.

“So, this is indeed an interesting and innovative product. We not only offer it in the form of a website but also present it as a card that is linked to business card functionality,” explained John. “With this approach, we’re not only providing a digital solution but also integrating it with real-world needs in the form of a physical card that can be used for various business purposes and practical information exchange.”

John expressed his belief that reintroducing the innovation of “s.id” can spark interest among the Indonesian population in creating websites with the “.id” domain. As the next step, PANDI has set a target to achieve 1 million “.id” domain users by 2023. This goal aims to strengthen the “.id” domain as a robust national digital identity in the cyber world.

“To strengthen the national identity in the cyber world, PANDI must achieve the target of one million ‘.id’ domain users by the end of this year,” John said.
