Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU) has partnered with a global business service and solutions enterprise, establishing a dynamic alliance aimed at facilitating the exchange of knowledge and fostering talent development.

The partnership was formalised via a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA). The signing ceremony, attended by APU’s Vice Chancellor and the company’s Head of Shared Services, marked a milestone that signifies the dedication of both entities to outline the fundamental objectives of this collaboration. Witnessing the event were APU’s Associate Professor, the Senior Head of APU’s School of Business, and the company’s Head of Human Resources.

Under this partnership, five key objectives have been outlined, encompassing the promotion of knowledge exchange, academic mobility, and the nurturing of talent. Furthermore, the collaboration focuses on professional development, skill enhancement through training, research prospects, and the provision of access to proficient graduates.

The two parties have united with the shared goal of cultivating an environment of knowledge-sharing that bridges academia and the technological corporate sphere. This collaborative partnership is designed to encourage academic mobility and elevate skills for students and staff alike, thereby facilitating comprehensive personal and professional growth.

The company, acknowledging the potential for cultivating future leaders, will enrol select individuals in APU’s postgraduate programmes. Simultaneously, APU will offer specialised courses and micro-credentials, equipping the company employees with essential proficiencies demanded by the technology-driven industry.

This collaboration extends its reach to encompass research opportunities, enabling APU’s master’s students to innovate solutions for tangible business challenges faced by the company. Such a symbiotic exchange between academia and industry promises novel insights and pragmatic resolutions.

Central to the partnership are mutual visits, active participation of students and staff, and reciprocal access to facilities and support systems. The two have committed to engaging in joint research initiatives, sharing curricula and teaching materials, and designing novel programmes tailored to industry demands.

The Vice Chancellor of APU is optimistic about the collaboration saying he felt it holds substantial potential. The intent is to harness APU’s strengths and resources as a Premier Digital Tech University and a renowned Best Tech University. This collaboration seeks to empower students and professionals with the requisite skills for success in the ever-evolving global business landscape.

Meanwhile, the Head of Shared Services at the company echoed the sentiment noting that the company’s commitment to continuous education and upskilling highlights their advocacy for learning and development. Utilising APU’s diverse talent and resources through the MoA, the aim is to elevate workforce capabilities, enabling the delivery of top-tier global business services and solutions.

This collaboration is poised to pave the way for groundbreaking advancements in knowledge exchange and talent development, benefiting both institutions and the broader business community.

The strategic partnership between the Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation and the company is a testament to their commitment to facilitating knowledge exchange and technological prowess. The collaboration’s focus on leveraging cutting-edge tech resources underscores its dedication to preparing the workforce for the intricate demands of the contemporary global business landscape.

The MoA aligns with Malaysia’s goals of fostering a knowledge-based economy and digital transformation. APU’s role as a Premier Digital Tech University contributes to the government’s push for digital skill development and the company’s commitment to upskilling resonates with Malaysia’s emphasis on continuous professional growth.

The partnership embodies Malaysia’s strategy of bridging academia and industry, supporting research, innovation, and knowledge transfer.
