The global economic structure is changing because of the digital economy’s explosive growth. Hence, during the “14th Five-Year Plan” period, China’s digital economy has progressed to a stage of expanding applications and inclusive sharing.
The China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT) has introduced the Digital Software Product and Service Capability System Specification and the associated Digital Software Product Service Capability Maturity Certification (DSSC) to further advance the development of the digital economy and meet the rising demand for software products and services.
The high-quality growth of the digital economy is mostly driven by full-factor digital transformation. For Chinese software developers, it presents enormous growth prospects. The importance of supply-side manufacturers’ goods and services increases as the demand for software product capabilities and services rises because of digital transformation.
The Internet Industry Promotion Centre, the Internet Society of China, and CAICT started compiling the Digital Software Product and Service Capability System Specification to address the issues facing both the supply and demand sides.
The purpose of it is to offer a qualitative assessment of the customer service abilities of digital software firms. This assessment will aid with model selection and demand-side procurement, ultimately assisting software supply-side manufacturers in becoming more competitive.
The specification has already been created, and CAICT has introduced the DSSC in response to the requests of participating businesses. Companies can now apply for the DSSC if they want to validate their product and service capabilities for digital transformation.
The enterprise’s maturity in providing digital software products and services will be recognised and demonstrated through this certification. Hence, companies can improve their market reputation and get a competitive edge by receiving the certification.
The CAICT will handle the certification procedure, review the results, and present the Certificate to the initial group of recognised businesses. Potential customers will use this certification as a standard, knowing that the certified firm has proven to be highly competent in offering digital software products and services.
An important step in advancing the development of the digital economy was taken with the introduction of the DSSC in China. The certification enables businesses to exhibit their expertise and boosts their competitiveness by giving software companies a standardised evaluation mechanism.
The DSSC certification will be an invaluable tool for both supply-side manufacturers and demand-side businesses in choosing reputable and skilled software suppliers as the demand for digital transformation keeps growing. China’s commitment to advancing a strong digital economy and fostering the development of its software industry is further reaffirmed by this programme.
Software firms must adhere to strict criteria for functionality, performance, and quality, which are enforced by the evaluation systems. This promotes consistency and dependability in software services and products.
Customer Credibility Customers benefit from standardised evaluations because they can trust the certification to serve as a barometer for the competence and quality of software providers. It offers reassurance that their selected software vendor complies with accepted industry standards.
The evaluation systems let software companies set themselves apart from their rivals. They can highlight their adherence to standards and indicate that they provide high-quality goods and services by getting certifications.
Likewise, certifications act as passes to enter projects or marketplaces. Many clients or governmental bodies demand that software businesses have qualifications to be eligible for contracts. Hence, for accredited companies, standardised evaluations increase market access and commercial potential.
