FLAIR, the Hong Kong Industrial Artificial Intelligence & Robotics Centre, successfully hosted a seminar titled “Emerging Technologies Enable New Industrialisation” and a significant signing ceremony for collaborative agreements. Over 100 representatives from various sectors including the Government, industry, academia, and research gathered.
Distinguished guests in attendance included key figures such as the Under Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry of the HKSAR Government, the Commissioner for Innovation and Technology of the HKSAR Government, the Deputy Director of the Department of Policies & Regulations of Shenzhen Science and Technology Innovation Commission, the Executive Deputy Commissioner from the Administration for Construction and Development of Hetao Shenzhen-Hong Kong Science and Technology Innovation Cooperation Zone, and the Assistant Commissioner for Innovation and Technology (Research Clusters) of the HKSAR Government. They all witnessed the significant signing ceremony.
FLAIR’s commitment to fostering collaboration and innovation in the field of industrial artificial intelligence and robotics was showcased via the event. It served as a platform for meaningful discussions and the establishment of partnerships that will drive the development and application of emerging technologies in various sectors.
FLAIR, as a member of InnoHK, an initiative by the HKSAR Government, has achieved significant milestones through collaborative agreements with seven esteemed partners. These partnerships include renowned research institutions like the Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology, the Chinese Academy of Sciences (SIAT), and the Shenzhen Institute of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics for Society (AIRS). Moreover, leading enterprises have also joined hands with FLAIR.
Notably, FLAIR has signed a Letter of Intent with the customs warehouse in Hong Kong to establish a joint venture, demonstrating their shared vision for innovation in industrial artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics. Additionally, FLAIR has signed a Collaboration Agreement with an international company which specialises in Business Development and IT solutions to establish another joint venture, further solidifying their commitment to collaboration.
These collaborative agreements underscore the widespread recognition of FLAIR’s capabilities in developing innovative technologies in the field of industrial AI and robotics. The partnerships aim to empower enterprises in upgrading and transforming their operations while driving the practical application and commercialisation of these advanced technologies.
Numerous industry representatives and members of the public gathered to witness the unveiling of a wide range of cutting-edge technologies and remarkable research achievements. Notably, FLAIR garnered international recognition, receiving four prestigious scientific research awards including the “TechConnect 2023 Innovation Awards” and accolades at the “2023 Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions.”
A diverse array of AI and robotics technologies were showcased, many of which have found practical applications across various sectors. These sectors include semiconductors, information and communication technology, the gold and jewellery industry, logistics, construction, automotive parts, and public utilities.
Furthermore, the “Hephaestus: Industrial Artificial Intelligence Application Platform,” an innovative service that leverages AI and digital technology was debuted. Hephaestus offers numerous benefits, including broad applicability, a user-friendly interface, streamlined architecture, and time-saving advantages. It aims to empower industries to upgrade and transform their operations while adding substantial value.
A panel of experts representing the industry, academia, and research sectors was invited to participate in a seminar during the event. They shared their insights on various topics related to AI, innovative robotics technology, industrial Internet of Things (IoT), industrial big data, and more. The discussions aimed to explore the immense potential and opportunities presented by AI and robotics technologies in empowering new industrialisation.
The experts delved into the practical applications of AI, highlighting its transformative capabilities in driving high-end and intelligent development across industries. They discussed the ways in which innovative robotics technology can be harnessed to enhance productivity, efficiency, and overall operational performance.
Additionally, the seminar shed light on the role of industrial IoT in creating interconnected systems and optimising processes, as well as the significance of industrial big data in extracting valuable insights for informed decision-making.
