The Electronic-Based Government System (SPBE) Summit 2024 and the launch of Government Technology (GovTech) Indonesia will be held in May at the State Palace. The Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (PANRB), Abdullah Azwar Anas, stated that various preparations have been finalised, including coordination and consolidation with ministries/agencies related to accelerating Integrated Priority Digital Services.
“The Ministry of PANRB, as the Chair of the SPBE Coordination Team, is collaborating with the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN), the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (Kominfo), the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas, BSSN, BRIN, BPKP, Perum Peruri, and various other ministries/agencies including BUMN in the implementation of the SPBE Summit and the preparation of GovTech,” said Anas.
This spirit of integration is expected to move away from the culture of one innovation, one application, which has led to the emergence of thousands of applications across various government agencies. The multitude of applications has ultimately become challenging to interoperate, necessitating a new approach that is simpler and more useful in serving the public. GovTech, which the President will launch, is not just an application or platform but an integrator of services. With GovTech, it is envisioned that the public will no longer need to download numerous applications from various government agencies.
The SPBE Summit is a significant moment in promoting the development of government digital services based on the public’s or citizen-centric needs. This event will mark a new historical milestone as the government launches GovTech to provide integrated solutions for government digital services, ranging from infrastructure and national portals to priority public digital services.
The series of events at the SPBE Summit 2024 includes the launch of the brand for the integrator of Indonesia’s government digital services ecosystem and the introduction of plans to integrate public service portals and government administration portals. Subsequently, leaders of ministries/agencies responsible for the nine priority SPBE services will sign commitments.
Additionally, the SPBE Summit will feature an award session, the “Digital Government Award,” for central and regional government agencies with the best SPBE achievements in six categories of SPBE implementation: Ministries, Agencies, Provincial Governments, District Governments, City Governments, and Improvement in SPBE Implementation.
“Hopefully, with the holding of the SPBE Summit 2024 and the launch of GovTech Indonesia, we will enter a new phase where Indonesia becomes easier, faster, more transparent, free from corruption, and of course, focused on the needs of the public,” concluded Anas.
The launch of GovTech aligns with various digital initiatives that the Indonesian government has implemented in recent years. These initiatives include the development of advanced information and communication technology (ICT) infrastructure, enhancement of cybersecurity, and improvement of digital skills among state apparatus. This aims to create a more efficient, secure, and inclusive digital ecosystem.
By integrating digital technology into the governmental system, Indonesia hopes to enhance bureaucratic efficiency, accelerate decision-making processes, and provide more responsive and high-quality public services. The launch of GovTech Indonesia represents a significant step forward in realising Indonesia’s vision of a modern and innovative digital government.
In the future, GovTech Indonesia is expected to play a crucial role in driving digital transformation across various sectors, including education, healthcare, transportation, and public administration. By leveraging emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, big data analytics, and the Internet of Things, GovTech Indonesia can revolutionise service delivery, improve citizen engagement, and foster economic growth.
The launch of GovTech Indonesia marks a significant milestone in Indonesia’s digital transformation journey. By embracing digital innovation and leveraging technology, GovTech Indonesia has the potential to drive positive change, improve service delivery, and enhance the overall quality of life for Indonesians.
