The “Action Plan for Deepening the Reform of Basic Education Curriculum Teaching” was just released by the Ministry of Education of China to improve the quality of teaching through digital empowerment.
The plan has 14 steps that focus on lesson planning, changing the way teachers impart, helping students learn more about science, evaluating teachers, helping professionals, and giving students more power over technology.
These steps are meant to make it easier for teachers to use new technologies like artificial intelligence (AI) and 5G, as well as to build new ways to teach in the digital age.
One of the main goals is to improve the standard of teaching about digital empowerment. This means using digital technologies to give teachers more time and space to teach, share high-quality materials, improve course content and teaching methods, and improve how students learn.
The plan focuses on using teaching evaluation in a wide range of ways to meet new needs in knowledge creation and literacy development. It aims to build a new way of teaching and learning that makes good use of digital tools and makes teaching more effective and better.
To reach these goals, the plan puts an emphasis on using the national smart education platform for primary and secondary schools to give access to high-quality learning and teaching tools. It pushes teachers to use digital tools in their daily lessons and makes that a normal part of their work.
The plan also talks about how important it is to share and spread the word about great digital applications in education. Also, it focuses on how important it is to have standardised management and increase the vitality of reform. It also encourages schools to turn the plan for educating people into real reform activities.
The plan has four major parts: the guiding philosophy, the action goals, the key tasks, and the organisation and execution. The guiding philosophy stresses the need for great education and fairness in education.
The action goals aim to set up a long-term system for curriculum teaching change by 2027, as well as to make sure that there are good examples of places and schools that use the new curriculum. Some of the most important jobs are making plans for putting curriculum into action, putting teaching reforms into action, improving science education, and promoting digital empowerment in the classroom.
In the part on organisation and execution, the focus is on giving advice, professional support, and promoting the plan’s use in schools all over the country. By taking advantage of new technologies and encouraging the widespread use of digital tools, the plan hopes to make a new way of teaching and learning that fits the needs of the digital age and improves the quality and speed of teaching.
China believes that Digital empowerment is an important part of education because it gives students access to a wide range of learning materials, makes learning more interactive, encourages collaboration between students and teachers, makes teaching more efficient, and prepares students for the digital age.
It gives students the tools they need to get the digital skills, critical thinking skills, and flexibility they need to be successful in a world driven by technology. Also, digital freedom in education helps close the educational gap, giving all students the same chances to learn, no matter where they live or how much money they have.
