According to Philip Gobang, Special Assistant to the Minister of Communication and Information for Political Communication, the Analogue Switch Off (ASO) programme not only improves the technical aspects of broadcasting from analogue to digital formats but also opens job opportunities in the creative sector.
The migration to digital TV opens up opportunities for creative content to emerge, so this opportunity will also absorb a lot of creative workers.
– Philip Gobang, Special Assistant to the Minister of Communication and Information for Political Communication
The creative sector will be recognised because there will be many digital TV broadcast channels and with increasingly diverse content needs, including local digital television broadcasts, it will undoubtedly require many creative content creators.
The transition to digital TV broadcasting will foster the growth of society’s creative industry. Furthermore, the transition from analogue to digital television provides broadcasting benefits or advantages, one of which is related to improving broadcast quality.
According to Minister Gobang, another advantage of transitioning to digital TV broadcasting is that it encourages content diversity or diversification of broadcast content, which has the potential to produce educational, creative, and varied content from the domestic broadcasting industry.
Sophisticated technology serves clean picture quality and clear sound. These factors are then considered because they provide significant benefits to the community, and are, of course, related to the efficiency of using the frequency spectrum at 700 Mhz.
President Joko Widodo has issued directives on digital transformation, which is a quick and strategic solution to bring Indonesia into the future. As a result, the government continues to strive for digital sovereignty and independence, which is an important principle in Indonesia’s digital transformation implementation.
The Indonesian government’s message emphasised a critical concern at this time: making every effort to ensure that digital transformation occurs throughout the country. One of them is the transition from analogue to digital television broadcasts.
The ASO programme is mandated by Law No. 11 of 2020 on Job Creation. Towards the end of the migration of analogue TV broadcasts to digital, the Ministry of Communication and Informatics has set three stages of migration within 2022. The first stage was conducted in April while the second stage will be in August and the third stage will be in November.
Based on these three stages, the Ministry of Communications and Informatics as the leading sector for the success of the ASO program hopes that local governments, both cities and districts affected by the migration of analogue TV to digital TV, will prepare themselves from the start.
For this reason, today’s technical guidance activity is part of the joint effort to ensure that the analogue to digital TV migration process goes according to plan and enters the deadline in November this year.
Meanwhile, to protect all Indonesian consumers, the government guarantees legal stability. To safeguard Indonesian consumers, empower consumers, and foster orderly business actors, the Ministry of Trade continues to place a high focus on the resolution of consumer complaints.
The e-commerce industry’s dominance is a result of social constraints that have forced many company sectors to transition to digital transactions by providing competitively priced goods and raising consumer interest in online purchasing.
Consumer concerns have been resolved in 99.8 per cent of cases, on the other hand, the Directorate of Consumer Empowerment of the Directorate General of PKTN is awaiting the accuracy of the data, analysing documents, elaborating, and assisting in the resolution of disputes between customers and corporate players.
